Dragon’s Dogma 2 Size Revealed on Xbox Series X; Pre-Load Now Live

The eagerly awaited Dragon's Dogma 2 is now available for pre-loading by those who have already secured their pre-orders, specifically for owners of the Xbox Series X and Series S. Though the exact size for the Series S remains unknown at this point, Series X users can expect a substantial download, clocking in at 69.94GB. This information has been circulating on platforms like Reddit and Xbox Era, highlighting the significant footprint of the game on console storage. While this figure might seem significant, it pales in comparison to the extensive file sizes seen with recent releases in the Call of Duty series, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and various Forza titles.

The game's expansive download size might hint at its vastness, especially since its map is reported to be four times larger than its predecessor. This is an exciting detail for players looking forward to exploring the game world.

Scheduled for a global release on March 22, Dragon's Dogma 2 will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Capcom recently elevated player anticipation by providing a free character creation tool, allowing fans to craft their Arisen and main pawn ahead of the full game's launch.

In terms of performance, Hideaki Itsuno, the game’s director, shared insights into the title's framerate objectives. He expressed the team's aim for the game to run at or above 30FPS across consoles, with the framerate remaining uncapped. He clarified that players would have the option to toggle certain functions, though the game wouldn't feature extensive customization settings for visuals commonly seen in other modern console games. This approach aims to balance performance and visual fidelity, catering to a smooth gaming experience on all platforms.
