Mortal Kombat 1 Director Teases Skins Based on 1995 Film

NetherRealm Studios has just dropped the inaugural trailer for the latest DLC character for Mortal Kombat 1 - Homelander, the iconic character from The Boys. The portrayal is impressively accurate, even including his peculiar affinity for milk. Beyond this exciting update, the game's director, Ed Boon, hinted at another thrilling addition via Twitter: new skins for characters modeled after the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie.

In the preview, only Scorpion's movie-based skin was displayed through various scenes, including pre-battle animations, in-fight sequences with the newly introduced Ferra, and the character selection screen. The design closely mimics the original from the film, and although it remains unclear which other characters will receive similar updates, the anticipation is high among fans.

Homelander is slated to join the Mortal Kombat 1 lineup in the upcoming Spring, though a specific release date has not been confirmed. Another character, Mavado, is set to appear as a Kameo Fighter in May, while a release schedule for Terra has yet to be announced.

Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, offering players many platforms to engage in its rich, combative gameplay.
