Outcast: A New Beginning Sets Its 2024 Release for a New Open World Adventure

THQ Nordic, working alongside Charleroi's Appeal Studios, who recently launched Gangs of Sherwood, has announced the highly anticipated release date for "Outcast: A New Beginning." The follow-up to the influential 1999 adventure Outcast is set to grace gaming platforms on March 15, 2024. The game will be available to PC players as well as those on the latest generation of consoles, namely PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, with a slight price advantage for PC gamers.

This ambitious sequel comes after the 2017 revamped edition, Outcast: Second Contact, which served as a foundation for the upcoming title. The team is keeping the story continuity with the original protagonist from Outcast remaining central to the narrative in "Outcast: A New Beginning," which was announced back in September 2021.

Reuniting the original creators, the game promises a richly detailed world teeming with perilous creatures and the Talan, an ancient race with a destiny deeply intertwined with Earth after the events of the original tale. Players step into the shoes of Cutter Slade, an ex-Navy SEAL, who retains his distinctive sharp humor from the original game but must adapt to a world that has evolved, just as he must himself.

Gameplay highlights include navigating the vast open world with a jetpack, allowing players to leap, air-dash, and glide across the landscape. Players can also customize their weaponry with a plethora of different modules tailored to their combat style, engage with the storyline at their preferred pace in a non-linear environment, uncover secret temples, face off against indigenous wildlife, and immerse themselves in the culture of the Talan to help liberate their communities. The game will feature advanced Talan powers that harness natural forces against robotic foes, all complemented by an outstanding soundtrack from Lennie Moore, who returns as the original composer from Outcast.
