Navigating the Arsenal Interface in Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V boasts an array of diverse weaponry, inviting you to play your way. Whether you relish in targeting foes from afar or prefer the close-quarter combat with a short-barreled shotgun, GTA V will satiate your desires. The assortment of weapons available to your virtual persona is systematically organized in the weapon wheel.

Procedure

1. Vacate your means of transport.

Should you be in a car or any other mode of transport and need to access the weapon wheel, the first step is to disembark. The weapon wheel is solely accessible when your character is on foot and is inactive while inside any vehicle.

2. Activate the weapon wheel.

The weapon wheel is activated by pressing and holding the L1 button on a PS3, the LB button on an Xbox 360, or the Tab key on a PC. Maintain pressure on this button while interacting with the wheel. Time will significantly decelerate while the wheel is active.
Releasing the button will cause the weapon wheel to vanish.

3. Navigate the segments.

The weapon wheel is made up of eight distinct segments, each representing a weapon category. Originating from the bottom and moving in a clockwise direction, these are hand-to-hand weaponry like fists and knives; Shotguns such as pump-action and a musket; Heavy arms like grenade launchers and miniguns; Ordinance like grenades and sticky bombs; Handguns featuring heavy pistols; Automatic weapons containing SMGs and LMGs; Assault Rifles like carbine rifles; and Precision arms, including heavy sniper rifles.
Swapping between these weapon categories is done using the left stick on a console or the mouse on a PC.

4. Inspect available arms.

Once you're on a specific weapon category, navigate between the accessible arms within that category using the right and left buttons on the D-pad for the console or directional arrow keys on a PC.

5. Examine firearm specifics.

Below the icon for each armament, the amount of ammunition it holds is displayed. Moreover, by hovering over the weapon you also get to inspect its specifications situated in the top right corner.

6. Arm yourself. Navigate your inventory using the right and left buttons or directional arrow keys until you find the weapon you wish to arm yourself with. On reaching the desired armament, simply close the weapon wheel by releasing the L1 button on PS3, LB button on Xbox 360, or Tab key on a PC. Upon exit, your character will brandish the chosen weapon from the wheel.
