Alan Wake 2 Release Postponed by a Week to Bypass Launch Date Overlaps

The launch of Alan Wake 2 by Remedy has been postponed by ten days to avoid overlapping with other game releases. The game, which was initially set to launch on 17th October, will now make its debut on 27th October.

Gamers can look forward to getting the latest updates about Alan Wake 2 at Gamescom's Opening Night Live, though host Geoff Keighley has already managed audience expectations. October is a particularly bustling period for the gaming industry, following a packed September as well.

A number of other games, such as Detective Pikachu Returns (6th October), Forza Motorsport (10th October), Assassin's Creed: Mirage (12th October), and Lords of the Fallen (13th October), were slated for a launch before Alan Wake 2.  Alan Wake 2 will now be launched just after the releases of Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros.

The Alan Wake 2 game, being a genuine survival horror game, will fittingly be released on the Halloween weekend.
